RECRUITMENT OF A CONSULTANT FOR IEC PRODUCTION

Subject: Call for Applications for the recruitment of a consultant to carry out research and design information, education and communication (IEC) material on cultural rights in Cameroon

The Mbororo Social and Cultural Development Association (MBOSCUDA) is a membership-based organization established in 1992 by the Mbororo pastoralists of Cameroon. It is a national organization with autonomous regional chapters in 7 out of the 10 regions of Cameroon. MBOSCUDA’s vision is a peaceful Cameroon where Mbororo pastoralists secure sustainable development and equal rights in a healthy environment. Its mission is to work with grassroots communities to achieve their human, economic, social and cultural needs, and to empower them through collaboration at all levels.

MBOSCUDA is collaborating with the North West Farmers’ Organization (NOWEFOR) and United Purpose UK to implement a project on Cultural Dialogue titled “Bridging the gap: safeguarding peace and human rights by promoting intercultural dialogue in the North West Region of Cameroon. This project is funded by the European Union and has as main objective to Strengthen social cohesion in the North West Region of Cameroon through the promotion of intercultural dialogue and cultural rights.

We are looking for a suitably qualified consultant to assist the project in elaborating the content of, and designing a user-friendly booklet, a poster and a brochure on national and international instruments on cultural rights and diversity issues. The target audience for these materials shall consist of a wide range of stakeholders including leaders of Mbororo and non-Mbororo communities, leaders of youth and women’s groups, local administrative authorities, officials of relevant technical services and NGOs, journalists etc. Considering this diversity in the target audience, these materials will be written in simple language to ensure that they can be read and understood by the different categories of stakeholders. The total effort for the research and design of all the materials will be about 50 person days.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications in electronic version (by email) in view of the selection of the consultant who will carry out this activity. The application file should consist of the following items:

  1. A cover letter summarizing the candidate’s qualifications, experiences and motivation to carry out the activity

  1. The candidate’s detailed Curriculum Vitae

  1. A proposed outline for the poster, brochure and bookletA financial proposal indicating only the daily fee for the service
